Marisela is the leading figure at the Sanchez family estate, preserving her family’s history and reputation within the specialty coffee world. The Sánchez family’s small estate is located in El Portal, Palestina, a region in Huila renowned globally for producing exceptional coffee. The land was granted to Marisela’s parents by the Colombian government in the 1950s, and since then, the family has cultivated coffee there with dedication.

As the estate passed to the second generation, the land was divided into smaller plots managed by Marisela’s siblings and extended family, with the main processing and drying station based at Marisela’s home. Approaching retirement, Marisela has shifted her focus to community work and producing lower-yield coffees of higher value and rarity.

This Geisha coffee is a testament to the meticulous care and attention Marisela invests daily, delivering a cup that embodies history and heritage. It is a rare expression of both the family’s legacy and the exceptional coffee traditions of Huila.
